Lot number: 390906

This lot failed to meet its reserve.

This seems to be the complete collection from the 2014 Feis Ile, minus the queuing!

Ardbeg:

This Ardbeg has whisky that has been aged in special casks that have had their heads removed and replaced by ones that have been heat treated with a secret toasting regime. These new heads are designed to create a particular flavour profile which emphasises the notes of coffee and mocha.

This spirit is then blended with 'classic' Ardbeg from 1st and 2nd fill Bourbon barrels.

The whisky has been named for the signature colours on the Ardbeg bottle which happen to be the same as the ones on the Brazilian Flag where the World Cup kicks off on the 12th of June 2014.

49.9%ABV / 70cl

Bowmore:

Feis Ile Beers

These beers were produced for the Feis Ile celebrations in 2014. They were brewed by Islay ales, using malt from Bowmore and even being aged for a period in Bowmore casks!

1989 Vintage

Early in the morning on Bowmore's opening day, many people were queuing to buy this limited edition 1989 vintage. So the staff at Bowmore gave 300 people a single golden ticket so they didn't have to stand all day in the queue allowing them to enjoy the open day and still get a bottle.

Festival Bottling

After the success of the bottle release in 2013 Bowmore decided to go for the same tactics for the 2014 festival. They staggered the release of the 1000 bottles, so 700 were released on the Saturday (first day of festival) and the last 300 bottles were put on sale on their "official" open day.

Interestedly the bag that accompanies these bottles claims the whisky has been partially aged in French wine barriques, although the bottle itself proclaims that the whisky has been bourbon cask matured.
