Highland Park is one of the few distilleries that can afford to have a regular expression which has been aged for 30 years. It has received numerous awards for this bottling, it is worth pointing out that it is the older bottling, with the newer one being a lower ABV.
Presented beautifully in a chunky wooden box, what does the whisky taste like? Characteristic fudge sweetness together with complex aromatic spices and dark chocolate orange. It has a drying finish, leaving a gentle smoky flavour and a mildly salty aftertaste – the result of 30 years ageing in the Orkney sea spray.
