A first for us here at SWA and very possibly in auction.... This bottle comes from the new range of Mortlach, released earlier in 2014. Those Mortlach fans looking to get a bit more "bang for their buck" will be delighted to see that this bottle is at the US size of 75cl instead of the 50cl bottle size which was released here in the UK.
Presented in this boldly designed bottle, what of the whisky inside? Well, the Mortlach we all know and love is here, albeit slightly tempered down. A mixture of first fill American and European oak, along with some refill and "rejuvenated" casks. This is the entry level of the new Mortlach, so no age statement but certainly a bold new move for the distillery and we're glad to see it receiving more attention!
