One of the most northerly in Scotland - The first Clynelish distillery, was established in Brora by the Marquess of Stafford in 1819, it is now better known by the name Brora. Its building signalled the end of illicit distilling in the area and provided a ready market for locally grown barley.
The current Clynelish was built in 1967.
