In 1826 the exuberant and extroverted JamesAllardice founded the distillery and produced his 'Guid GlenDronach' single malt. There was a period where the distillery was mothballed between 1996 and 2002. However in 2008, nothing less than a complete renaissance began. The BenRiach Distillery Company becameGlenDronach'sproud new owner.
This Glendronach was aged initially in European Oak casks and then finished in the fortified sweet wine, Moscatel.
