Part des Anges, or the Angels' Share, is common between whisky and cognac. Throughout the long ageing period for both, some of the alcohol content evaporates… and this is known as ‘la part des anges’ (the ‘angels’ share).
In France it is also the name given to an exceptional gala evening: once a year, with the keen desire to share their passion for cognac, men and women of the cognac profession organize an auction of rare, outstanding cognacs.
