Lot number: 0600207
Winning bid: £160
Designed in 1898 by Charles Doig, who was an architect in Elgin and also designed several other Speyside distilleries. The distillery has had several extensions during its history and several silent periods. Benromach distillery then had a final closure in 1983 when all the distillation equipment was removed.
In 1993 Gordon & Macphail reopened the distillery and production commenced in 1998.
Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched back in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends, so this was quite an unusual move for the company but the range has proved to be a hit for over 35 years.
Distilled: 1970
40%ABV / 75cl
Please examine the images of the bottle, any packaging and labels carefully and satisfy yourself as to their condition before making a bid.
