The Amrut distillery was founded in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories. Established by Shri J N Radhakrishna, the company started blending and bottling various alcoholic beverages.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Amrut launched products for the Indian armed forces as well as the general market; products included the dark rum Amrut XXX and Silver Cup Brandy

Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015, director of The Whisky Exchange, Sukhinder Singh, decided to release a charity bottling to signify the strong links between India and Nepal, and to raise funds for the disaster-relief efforts. All profits from the sale of the bottles went to the Help Nepal Network charity.

This limited-edition bottling from Amrut has been bottled from cask #07006 at a cask strength. It is rich and intense, with notes of tropical fruits and sweet spice, with a long finish.
