Lot number: 065-0111

Winning bid: £3,300

The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. Now owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan prides itself on its Six Pillars, which include its curiously small stills, very narrow 'cut' of new make spirit and exceptional cask management. It is the most sought after whisky for collectors, regularly setting records at auctions all round the world.

The Macallan Cask 888 debuted in Hong Kong at the Lalique Lounge to fanfare status, as befitting its position as a limited edition single cask single malt. Only 720 bottles in the world, 24 were made available in Hong Kong.

Cask 888 is blessed by a highly fortuitous name, and also by a limited edition decanter handcrafted in cosmetic glass by Stolzle Flaconnag.

The whisky was bottled from a sherry-seasoned European oak cask on 08.08.08.

The highly polished display case contains the decanter, stopper, two Macallan branded glasses and a certificate of authenticity. Complete set with hand crafted wooden neck tag made from cask 888, USB pen with all the information

Bottled at the unique strength of 48.8% / 70cl
