The single malt that got the world drinking peaty whisky, Lagavulin is one of the original classic malts and a key component in the White Horse blend. One of the most highly regarded single malts in the world, it has received numerous awards and gold medals all over the world.

From the good, or bad depending on your point of view, days when the festival bottle was a single cask. Thirsty fans would drive off the ferry and stand in the queues for hours just to for the chance to get a bottle before they sold out in a record breaking two hours. Well you know, queuing is thirsty work!

2011 was a memorable year for the travellers to Islay (as Islay is not only famous for its whisky, it is also famous for its weather). The queuing fans received the full force of the Islay weather. Fortunately the friendly staff of Lagavulin came out and offered umbrellas for the poor souls in the queue, waiting patiently for their whisky!
