Kilchoman distillery was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 125 years and has garnered a sterling reputation in its short life span.
With everything being carried out on site from floor maltings, distilling and maturation to bottling, it is now one of the largest private employers on Islay.
The 5th Edition release is a vatting of bourbon barrels filled in 2009 and 2010. First released in 2010, the 100% Islay range is only lightly peated compared to the Machir Bay and Loch Gorm.
According to Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder; ‘There is a clear difference between the 100% Islay range and other releases, the lighter peating level and maturation exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels gives the whisky a beautiful fragrance and balance’
Distilled: 2009 and 2010
Cask Type: Bourbon Barrels
50% ABV / 70cl
