Benromach 35 Year Old with Booklet
Lot number: 066-1724
Winning bid: £330
Designed in 1898 by Charles Doig, who was an architect in Elgin and also designed several other Speyside distilleries. The distillery has had several extensions during its history and several silent periods. Benromach distillery then had a final closure in 1983 when all the distillation equipment was removed.
In 1993 Gordon & Macphail reopened the distillery and production commenced in 1998.
This pretty looking decanter houses whisky from some of Benromach's oldest and rarest stock from back in the days of distillery manager Donald MacDonald. Being selected from the very few casks left from this time period. But no one describes their whisky better than Keith Cruickshank himself "The 35 Year Old is the perfect dram to toast the past, present and the future of Benromach"
