German born, Simon Brown (Simon Balthasar Braun) was an experienced seafarer and tradesman who shipped various spirits, wine, and tea around the world. Through his trade in Scotland he managed to take over Scott & Baxter Wine & Spirits Merchants in Edinburgh in 1857.
This is a tawny looking single cask Glenfarclas which has spent its life in Bourbon casks, which is unusual for this distillery famed for its sherried drams.
