Tomatin distillery was founded in 1897 and spent most of it's life producing whisky for the blending industry. In the 1970s it was Scotland's biggest producer of single malt whisky. In 1986 Tomatin distillery became the first fully Japanese owned Scottish distillery when Takara Shuzo joined forces with trading company Okura.
Maturing for eighteen years in refill oak, this Tomatin is married in Oloroso sherry casks to round it out and add a layer of sweet dried fruit flavours.
