The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chill filtered.
The Glen Ord Distillery was founded in 1838. It won the International Wine and Spirits Competition 1994 & 95 Gold Medal for the world’s best single malt and the 1996 & 97 Monde Selection Awards.
It is known as the “Richer Malt” from the Black Isle in the Northern Highlands.
