Taken from the Old Pulteney website:
Hailing from the far North East of Scotland, off the Caithness coast, Stroma Malt Whisky Liqueurtakes its name from the windswept Caithness Isle. Stroma originates from the Norse meaning ‘island in the stream’ which also refers to the dangerous currents on the island’s shores, including the infamous ‘Swilkie’ whirlpool. Stroma’s lighthouse warns ships of these nearby powerful currents.
This fine liqueur is a careful blend of award winning malt whiskies and a mix of lighter malt whiskies. Stroma is smooth, sweet tasting and warming and, like the island itself , is packed full of robust and rugged untertones. Served neat or over ice, Old Pulteney Stroma Liqueur leaves a pleasantly warm and comforting afterglow
