Lot number: 067-4081

Winning bid: £165

Originally called Inverness after the town in which it was built, Millburn distillery was the oldest of the three distilleries in the town and the last one to close, only two years after the others, in 1985.

Sandwiched between a river and the town itself there was no room for expansion and now it is a restaurant.

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched back in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends so this was quite an unusual move for the company. But the range has proved to be a hit for more than 35 years.

Distilled: 1974

Bottled: 2000

40%ABV / 70cl
