Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distil, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms.
Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46%ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.
This is Adam Hannett's first Feis Ile offering since the retirement of Jim McEwan, so no pressure there then! The whisky is a vatting of casks dating back to 2001 when the distillery reopened and finished for six months in virgin oak.
