The oldest distillery on Islay, Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has its own floor maltings which make up about 30% of its requirements. Its No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
Malts of Scotland won the prestigious Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky Independent Bottler of the Year in both 2013 and 2014. Thomas Ewers personally selects each cask, which is bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered and without colour.
