Lot number: 068-2254

Winning bid: £75

This strong beer was brewed in 1902 by the reigning monarch at the time, King Edward VII. There is a common misconception that it was in celebration of the coronation in the same year, but sources have proved this to be incorrect. His High Royal Highness started the mash during his visit to the brewery in 1902.

The beer was stored in casks and wasn't released until 1905 when a small amount was released with a larger batch released in 1911 for the coronation of George V.
