Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched back in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends so this was quite an unusual move for the company. But the range has proved to be a hit for more than 35 years.
This rare old bottling of Oban from Gordon & MacPhail was distilled in 1961, meaning that all barley used in its production would have been malted on site at Oban distillery. A practice that ceased a relatively short period later in 1968.
