Its bidding time once more! And what a monster of an auction we have for you all this month...
Rich with beautiful Bowmores, luscious Linkwoods, perfect Port Ellens and the odd yummy Yamazaki or two.
The quality of offerings from independent bottlers has really impressed us this month, with rarely seen bottles like this 40 Year Old Linkwood and 42 Year Old Longmorn from stalwarts Gordon & MacPhail; as well as some older gems like these 1980s Sestante decanters from Mortlach and Dallas Dhu distilleries.
The Mighty Macallan juggernaut seems unstoppable with a whopping 300 plus in this auction! There are the usual superstars like the 40 Year Old and Masters of Photography range, not to mention gems like this 1956 vintage!
From the U.S of A come some bruisers of the Bourbon world, with the much sought after A.H Hirsch 16 year old, and this ultra rare Old Weller 7 Year Old. Or if Rye is more your thing, then why not check out the Van Winkle 1985?
We love Japanese whisky here at SWA, and as usual we're spoilt for choice. As well as a fine array of Karuizawas, there are a handful of sexy single cask bottles from Yamazaki. These two mouthwatering 1990 vintages in particular have caught our eye, with one matured in a White Oak Hogshead, and the other a sumptuous Sherry Butt! Alternatively we have not one, but two 30 Year Old expressions from Shinshu Mars Distillery. Mars whisky is building quite a reputation as a serious alternative to the better known Japanese distilleries.
And last, but not least, we have a special mention for this 1000 Casks Blend from the Creative Whisky Company! With a grand total of SIX bottles being made available for sale, this is surely a must have collectors item. What's more, the proceeds will be donated to the charity Canis Domi (Homes for Hounds). A Scottish registered charity, which tries to find homes for greyhounds and lurchers.
These merely represent the tip of the iceberg, and with over 4000 bottles there is definitely something for everyone.
As always we wish you all the very best of luck in the auction. And remember...
Don't lose your bottle!
