The Lantenhammer distillery in Bavaria is, in no small part, the result of a bet. Founder Florian Stetter, after a few drams on a visit to Speyside in 1994, bet a crate of Bavarian wheat beer that he would distill whisky in Bavaria. True to his word, in 2007 the bottles of Slyrs single malt was released for sale.
