The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chill filtered.
This whisky is from the lost Brora distillery. Built in 1819 as the Clynelish distillery, Brora has gained a huge following especially for its whisky produced between 1969 - 1973, when the spirit was heavily peated.
Closed in 1983, the buildings and equipment remain intact should this much-loved distillery wish to return to the land of the living.
