Lot number: 072-4952
Winning bid: £125
Rhum St. James, or its ancestor, was created by a holy man - Reverend Edmund Lefebure - in 18th century Martinique. He had a keen business mind to go with his devout nature, and began shipping his sugar cane rhum to the British colonies in North America. It was initially called St. Jacques, but the name was later changed to sound more British!
