The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chill filtered.
Another victim of the 1983 cull, Glen Mhor has perhaps the best reputation of the Inverness distilleries that survived until the 1980s (The Inverness Three?).
Founded by John Birnie in 1894 when he was refused shares in Glen Albyn, it was the first distillery to use a Saladin box for its malting needs.
