Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distill, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms. Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46%ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.

From the Bruichladdich Site:

''Casks that have held wine from grapes grown to honeyed intensity from some of the most blessed plots of Bordeaux, now meet classic Bruichladdich spirit that has slumbered in our dank, dark loch-side warehouses for two decades.''
