The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chill filtered.
Clynelish is the signature malt of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and also an important component of many of Diageo's blends.
The original distillery was founded in 1819 and in 1967 the distillery currently operating as Clynelish was built The distillery that previously held the name was reopened in 1968 as Brora.
