Sold in America during prohibition for medical purposes, due to the Surgeon General refusing to believe it could be drunk for pleasure, Laphroaig was awarded a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles in 1994. It is the biggest-selling single malt from Islay.
No longer available from the distillery. Laphroaig 18 Year Old is the richer, more mature and succulent elder brother of the robust 10 Year Old.
This set of three bottles includes the Diamond Jubilee edition of the 18 year old. To celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 60th year on the throne, Laphroaig launched a special Diamond Jubilee commemorative edition.
Bearing Prince Charles’ Royal Warrant, the 3000 Jubilee cartons and bottles are already collector’s items.
