Mondavi Rothschild 1995 Opus One 75cl

Founded as a joint venture between two of the wine worlds biggest names - Robert Mondavi & Baron Philippe de Rothschild - the aim of Opus One was to create a Bordeaux style blend based on a Californian Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Opened in 1980 when California was still a relative youngster on the premium wine scene, the presence of a Bordeaux master helped add some Old World gravitas to the Napa Valley region. This mix of Old & New World styles caught the imaginations of wine buyers and Opus One achieved cult status.
