The most northerly of Scottish whisky distilleries, Highland Park was founded in 1798 and is one of the most highly regarded single malts in the world, the great Michael Jackson calling it, "The greatest all-rounder in the world of whisky." and Paul Pacult awarded it, "The Best Spirit in the World." in 2005. The unique peat of Orkney gives the whisky a distinctive heathery sweetness.
The Highland Park Single Cask Chris Maile Edition has been matured for 13 years in a 1st fill European oak sherry hogshead (cask #6352). The outturn was 306 bottles. The name of the release is to honour Chris Maile, the whisky guru behind the Oslo whisky festival (and Trondheim whisky festival and the Artic whisky festival). The whisky was officially launched at the 13th Oslo whisky fetsival the first weekend of November 2016.
