Masataka Taketsuru is known as the grandfather of the Japanese whisky industry. He travelled to Scotland to study Organic Chemistry at University of Glasgow during the summers. Later started working in Hazelburn before it was absorbed by Springbank. Coming back to Japan he helped to establish the first Japanese Whisky Distillery.

These were only available at the distillery. Each label from this "edition" has two words to describe its character of whisky.
