Based in the ex-Portuguese colony of Goa, India, Paul John whiskies are produced under the watchful eye of their namesake and founder Paul P John. As is the case in other tropical distilleries, their whisky (which is aged almost exclusively in American oak barrels) matures at a comparably rapid rate, and the distillery continues to grow in esteem and popularity.
The Paul John "Bold" is the distillery's attempt to create an expression that encapsulates Goa's vibrancy in liquid form. It combines their signature bourbon influenced style with a peated spirit, that provides an onrush of smoke to follow the initial sweetness.
