When the spirit first flowed in September 2008 it marked the birh of the first distillery on the island of Lewis since 1840 when the Stornaway distillery closed. Founded by Mark Tayburn part of the distillery is a converted fish farm.
The first ever legal whisky distilled, bottled and produced from Abhainn Dearg Distillery on the Outer Hebridean Archipelago. The bottle is beautifully presented in a wooden box, bearing the Abhainn Dearg logo.
