Asaka Distillery is a new local distillery owned by Sasanokawa Shuzo Co, the oldest Sake brewer in the Tohoku region of Japan. They first started producing blended whisky in 1946 using the brand names Yamazakura and The Cherry Whisky, but have not succeeded that much in the industry. In 2016, after being refurbished with new equipment, the newly named Asaka Distillery is releasing their first Newborn whiskies to the market.
