Wolfburn (of Thurso) have recently wrested the title of Scotland's most northerly mainland distillery from Old Pulteney (the Wick-based maritime malt masters). Having only gained approval for the new distillery (which lies a short distance from the old one, but draws its water from the same "Wolf Burn") in 2012, the owners managed to produce the first spirit in early 2013.
