Well here we are again... summer has finally arrived and just in time for our 86th Auction! The BBQs are out, the beer gardens are overflowing, and as usual, we have a diverse range of maltastic bottles in store for you.
First up, we are delighted to present this terrific collection of Karuizawa 1999 & 2000 Fugaku Sanjurokkei Releases. These single cask stunners are a series of beautiful landscape prints by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. Fugaku Sanjurokkei (‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’) illustrates Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji from differing locations and amidst varied weather conditions. These vivid looking bottles have been drawn from casks of 1999 and 2000 vintages and bottled at cask strength!
Next in store, we head up to the north of Scotland and flash you a little glitz and glamour with our Dalmore 40 Year Old 2017 Release. This whopper was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, aged further inGonzalez Byass Matsualem Oloroso Sherry butts, and a final finishing in first fill Bourbon barrels. If you like the sound of that, here’s some more: the slender hand-blown decanter is courtesy of French crystal house Baccarat and the 12-pointer stag was designed by Royal Warrant holders Hamilton & Inches. OOOft now that is classy!
However, if that 40 Year Old was a little much for you, then worry not, for here’s a curveball. Staying strong on the age but stripping back the flamboyance, how about trying a Blairfindy 1964 40 Year Old Blackadder. Blairfindy is an alias name for a distillery that sounds like ‘Glentarclas’ so let's keep this one on the down-low please.
Finishing up on Islay, we have a soaring supply of Ardbeg Single Casks in! A great opportunity to really try the individual fruity and zesty characteristics coming straight out of Ardbeg. If you haven’t managed to make it over to the Feis Ile on Islay this week then why not snap up one of these and soak up the same tasting experience form the comfort of your own home.
Righto, enough rambling on this side go forth, get bidding and remember… don’t lose your bottle!
