If there has ever been a been a whisky more lusted after by the SWA Team, then we can't remember it. When the announcement went out about Gordon & MacPhail having a 75 year old whisky due for release, we were all day dreaming about having a bottle of it! Sadly we have to rely on other people's tasting notes on this Mortlach.
We've long thought of G&M as cask wizards but the release of a 75 year old single malt confirms it. The bottles were hand crafted by Glencairn Glass - the decanters have 75 multi-level ‘cuts’; each cut representing a year of the whisky’s maturation. With only 100 decanters available, this is a truly precious release.
This lot is the presentation set which was handed out to Journalists, bloggers and invited guests at the launch. It includes a beautiful glass, USB stick as well as a specially commissioned book written by Charles Maclean and Alexander McCall Smith.
