Tamnavulin Double Cask & Glenlivet 12 Year Old
Lot number: 087-2192
Winning bid: £40
Tamnavulin
Tamnavulin distillery was silent between 1995 and 2007 - this 12 year gap in production meant that in recent times it has produced very little in the way of official bottlings. Although the vast majority of its production goes into blends, it did produce an official 12 year old expression for a number of years, although it has now been discontinued.
This non age statement expression has been double matured in both Bourbon and Sherry wood.
Cask Type: Sherry Cask Finish
Batch Number: 308
40% ABV / 70cl
Please note minor wear to box.
Glenlivet
The first distillery to take out a licence after the Excise Act of 1823, the distillery was a favourite of King George the IV who demanded nothing but during a visit to Edinburgh in 1821 - three years before it was legal!
Glenlivet has given its name to the 'longest valley in Scotland', so-called after several distilleries laid claim to the Glenlivet suffix to cash in on the distillery's sterling reputation - but only one can call itself The Glenlivet.
One of the most famous single malts in the world, which is due to be phased out in certain markets to make way for a No Age Statement bottling.
Age: 12 Years Old
40% ABV / 70cl
