Mannochmore 1984 Helen Arthur Single Cask Collection
Lot number: 090-4099
Winning bid: £110
Helen Arthur's The Single Malt Whisky Companion was the first whisky book to be translated into Dutch closely followed by Whisky – Uisge Beatha, The Water of Life. At the whisky fair in The Hague 2002 everyone wanted Helen’s autograph.
Caecil Gerrits asked her to come to his whisky shop in Nijmegen in June 2003 where the idea for her own whisky collection marketed by Caecil and his team was born. The Helen Arthur Single Cask Collection was launched at the whisky fair again in The Hague in November 2003.
The first bottlings were from Clynelish, Mortlach, Bowmore and Rosebank distilleries and were an instant success. Caecil and Helen enjoy selecting whiskies which illustrate the wide range of aromas and flavours available to single malt connoisseurs. Since 2003 there have been a further nine bottlings - Mannochmore, Bruichladdich, Caol Ila, Tullibardine, Longmorn, Glenrothes, Isle of Jura, Aberlour and Highland Park, and five more are scheduled for 2008.
The distinctive labels were designed to stand out from the crowd and feature paintings from Dutch artist, Ben Reiken.
