On the 23rd of June 1496 King James IV of Scotland granted a confirming charter defining the rights, privileges and duties of the burghers. On the 23rd of June 1996 Forres celebrated the quincentenary of this charter to the sounds of a Pictish carnyx trumpet and Scottish music. This whisky was produced to mark this historic occasion.
Forres is also home to both the Benromach and Dallas Dhu (now closed) distilleries.
