Since 1833, when King William IV granted the first Royal Appointment ever given to a distillery, Brackla has been called "Royal Brackla" and known as "The King's Own Whisky". Although sales of the single malt are quite low compared to others, it is highly desired for use in many blends including William Lawson and Dewar's so, in the past few years, the distillery has been running at full capacity production. A new core range was released in 2015 consisting of a 12, 16, and 21 Year Old.
A harder to find distillery bottling from Royal Brackla, which is a key component in Dewar's blends.
