Former law practitioner, Tom Bulleit puts the success of his bourbons down to an old family recipe inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who produced high-rye whiskey in the mid-1800s. Bottled in an old-fashioned style bottle, as with his ancestor's recipe there is a relatively high proportion of rye in the mashbill which gives it quite a kick. In recent years, the Bulleit distillery launched a community project known as 'Frontier Works' to inspire and be inspired by young, local people following an arts and crafts passion.
