Glen Mhor 1967 P.R. Reid Special Reserve 75cl
Lot number: 096-01789
Winning bid: £140
Another victim of the 1983 cull, Glen Mhor has perhaps the best reputation of the Inverness distilleries that survived until the 1980s (The Inverness Three?). Founded by John Birnie in 1894 when he was refused shares in Glen Albyn, it was the first distillery to use a Saladin box for its malting needs.
This bottling is part of Major P.R. Reid's Special Reserve collection who was a British POW during World War II where he was held captive at Colditz Castle, when it was designated Oflag IV-C. Reid was one of the very few to escape from Colditz.
