Whyte & Mackay

Started in 1882 By Charles Mackay and James Whyte, W&M Special was their first blended whisky and proved hugely popular in the UK and other English speaking countries worldwide. It claims that the secret to its award-winning taste is the triple maturation process and the way it blends, making sure no single whisky dominates another.

A unique blend to celebrate Glasgow as the Cultural Capital of Europe 1990.

Famous Grouse

Created in 1896 by Mathew Gloag, it was initially called the Grouse Blend but the 'Famous' prefix was added in 1905 after the success of the brand. Owned by the Edrington Group, it is stablemates with Highland Park and Macallan and was awarded the Royal Warrant in 1984. The blenders still work by the same four fundamentals as they always have: foundation (sticking to the Gloag family traditions); finest (keeping up the high quality); flavour (creating aroma through maturation); and fusion (perfecting the ideal blend).
