Based in the Colombian city of Cartagena, Dictador are best known for their rum, but they also dabble in gin, cigars and coffee. In the late 1700s, Severo Arango y Ferro arrived in what was then Nueva Granada with plans to improve Spain's collection of taxes from the American Spanish colonies and he soon became known as 'Dictador'. His love of rum meant that he became a key trader in the region, but it wasn't until 1913 that his descendant established Destileria Colombiana.
This "Best of" expression is a small batch release rum exemplifying the best and oldest barrels in their warehouses.
