Longueteau (often known as Esperance) was founded by Henri Longueteau in Guadeloupe when he converted a sugar refinery to enable rum production on the site. Still run by the same family, the distillery harvests most of its sugar cane from its own plantations. In 2002, they released a rare style of blended rum made solely from blue cane sugar releasing it under the name of Karukera.
This is a rhum blanc which uses red cane.
