Lot number: 110-02639

Winning bid: £420

Murray McDavid was formed in 1996 by Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright and was named after Reynier's grandparents Harriet Murray and Jock McDavid. It quickly became known for its irreverent tasting notes, edgy Gaelic slogan - 'Clachan a Choin' - and later for its ACEing process of finishing whisky in wine casks. They are based at Speyside's Coleburn distillery and in 2013 the company was sold to Aceo Limited. The Murray McDavid ranges include Mission Gold, Benchmark, Mystery Malt, Select Grain, The Vatting, and Crafted Blend.

The Aficionado Series features some of the rarest single malts and grains. Over the years Murray McDavid have collected single cask samples for their archive collection. The last of these malts have been bottled to create this very special series.
