A hearty and warm welcome to our superlative 135th auction! As always, we have a staggering array of bottles to choose from this month with over 7000 lots all vying for your attention. From the Highlands of Scotland to the mountains of Japan we have whiskies to suit every palate and pocket, and to ease your scrolling burden we’ve endeavoured to pick out a few highlights from this month’s offerings.

First up we have a full collection of Macallan’s The Archival Series Folio’s 1 - 6. While Macallan special releases are always coveted I don’t think anyone really predicted just quite how popular this series would be on the secondary market, where the prices have been going from strength to strength. With whispers that the next instalment Folio 7 is on the horizon this is the perfect opportunity to start your Folio collection off with a bang.

Next up is a bottle that always has the staff here at Scotch Whisky Auctions salivating, the Laphroaig 1980 27 Year Old Friends of Laphroaig Edition. Selected from 5 of the rarest Laphroaig Oloroso Sherry casks this whisky is a superb release from one of Islay’s most divisive distilleries. Personally, we love the smoky glory of a good Laphroaig, and when the spirit is introduced to the richness of Oloroso Sherry casks the resulting smoky sweet flavour profile is hard to beat. Rarely seen at auction, and one of only 94 bottles, this is one for a special occasion.

Our next bottle is a spectacularly well-aged dram from the heart of Speyside, the Linkwood 1956 60 Year Old Cask #20 Private Collection from Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled in the same year Elvis Presley released his first album this whisky has some serious years behind it. One of only 56 bottles release this expression is a vanishingly rare first fill sherry bomb of the highest order. Presented in an elegant decanter within a beautifully crafted bespoke case this a piece of unashamed luxury you won’t want to miss.

Finally, we have a rather special Macallan 1940 Rinaldi Import 75cl. Distilled in the early days of World War II and bottled in 1981 this venerable old gentleman of a whisky offers the buyer a genuine taste of days gone by. This truly stunning whisky was brought to the Italian market by famed Italian importers Rinaldi and is an excellent example of older style Macallan. Only sold once previously through our auctions this is an incredibly rare expression which is sure to generate considerable interest amongst our discerning bidders.

As well as these tremendous bottlings there are over 7000 more bottles to choose from, so don’t despair if these bottles are out of your reach as there is a multitude of affordable gems to be unearthed. Now is the time to get scrolling through the auction and getting your bids in early, fortune favours the brave so don’t lose your bottle!
