Lot number: 167-02345

Winning bid: £230

Facing Tobermory Distillery across the Sound of Mull, Nc’nean is situated on the Drimnin estate on Scotland’s Morvern peninsula and owned by Derek and Louise Lewis, the parents of distillery manager, Annabel Thomas.

One of the new wave of Scottish farm distilleries designed by the late Jim Swan, Ncn’ean has been designed as the first fully organic modern distillery in Scotland powered by 100% renewable energy. Wood chips for the biomass boiler are sourced from a local forest, while all by-products are recycled as animal and plant feed on the remote estate on which it lies.

With the first whisky released in 2020, the aim was to produce a fruity spirit. Using organic Scottish barley and bottling the whisky in the UK’s first 100% recycled clear glass bottle.
